Fire crews summoned to fiery semi-truck crash near Oak Brook

NEAR OAK BROOK, IL – Fire crews were summoned to the scene of a fiery truck crash that happened on Interstate 294 South near Oak Brook on Thursday. 

Video footage from a member of the public, Sofi Gonzalez, and re-shared by ABC7Chicago showed a fully engulfed truck cab and black smoke permeating the air. 

By 9 p.m., transportation crews reopened one southbound lane and likely told drivers to proceed with caution until they were fully able to clear the scene. 

Illinois State Police have reported no injuries at this time and are working to determine the cause of the fire.
