GENEVA, IL – A Geneva local lost his life as a result of a Jeep collision that occurred along Island Park last Thursday, May 29.
Fox32Chicago said the incident unfolded on the 1300th block of Crissy Avenue. Geneva Police said the driver, identified as 47-year-old Joseph C. Fisher III, was driving north when he lost control of his 2017 Jeep Renegade and crashed into a tree on the east side of Crissy.
Police and fire crews pulled up to the scene after 10 p.m. Firefighters extricated Fisher, and an ambulance rushed him to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital, where he later died.
Police and the Kane County Coroner’s Office do not suspect Fisher was under the influence of drugs or alcohol and are working to determine the events leading to the crash.
Officials closed Crissy for a few hours before reopening all lanes.
