About Jonathan

Jonathan P. Crannell founded The Crannell Law Group in 2009 with a straightforward goal: give injured people the same quality of representation that insurance companies pay for on the other side. Since then, the firm has recovered more than $50 million for individuals and families across Illinois.

Jonathan knew early on that the courtroom was where he belonged. He grew up drawn to debate and persuasion, and that instinct eventually led him to personal injury law, a field where strong advocacy makes a real difference in people’s lives. He also has a genuine interest in medicine and the human body, which helps him understand his clients’ injuries at a level that translates clearly to judges and juries.

What sets Jonathan apart is how he treats the people he represents. He answers texts and phone calls. He does not hide behind a receptionist or a voicemail tree. Many of his clients live near the Naperville office and stop by unannounced, and he welcomes it. He is persistent, honest, and direct. When there is good news, he shares it. When the news is not great, he shares that too. His clients always know where they stand.

Jonathan is aggressive at the negotiating table and relentless in the courtroom, but he is not the kind of attorney who wins through intimidation or bluster. He wins through preparation, honesty, and the fact that he genuinely cares about his clients and their families. His former clients consistently refer friends and family to him, and he considers that the highest compliment an attorney can receive.

At the end of the day, Jonathan loves what he does. He gets to stand up for people who would otherwise be outmatched by insurance companies with enormous budgets, teams of adjusters, and every incentive to pay as little as possible. Somebody has to keep those companies honest, and that is exactly what Jonathan does.
