Driver’s life claimed in Fourth of July rear-end crash in Naperville 

NAPERVILLE, IL – A driver’s life was claimed in a rear-end crash that happened on Interstate 88 on the Fourth of July. 

Illinois State Police told ABC7Chicago that the incident occurred around 11 p.m. One driver had slowed down for a previous, separate crash near Winfield Road when they were rear-ended by another vehicle. 

The driver who reduced their speed unfortunately died from their injuries. 

Officials shut down the road for several hours before reopening all lanes at 3:30 p.m.  

Police have not confirmed whether they cited or arrested the causing driver or specified the contributing factors behind this rear-end collision and the previous one.
