DEKALB CO., IL – A man is facing multiple criminal charges after he allegedly caused a wrong-way collision on Tuesday and then fled the scene, possibly while intoxicated.
WIFR reports that prosecutors have charged Christian Lloyd with driving under the influence, failure to report an accident, and improper lane usage
They say the 52-year-old man was headed north on 1st Street when he crossed the center line near Rich Road. Somehow, the rear of his car hit the front headlights of another vehicle. He apparently then left the scene without alerting authorities.
Police eventually caught up to Lloyd and administered a field sobriety test. They took him into custody and booked him at the DeKalb County Jail. He has since been released.
Fortunately, the other driver was not hurt and their car could be driven from the scene.
