KINGSTON TWP, IL – Three adults and three children were hospitalized last Thursday following a collision caused by a driver who ran a stop sign at an intersection southwest of Genoa.
Shaw Local reports that the crash happened shortly before 4:10 p.m. on Thursday, April 30.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, the driver of a white 2012 Chevrolet Silverado allegedly ran a stop sign on Pleasant Hill Road at its intersection with Baseline Road. The Silverado collided with a gray 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe on its passenger side. The collision caused at least one of the vehicles to overturn.
They say the Tahoe was being driven by a 39-year-old woman who had three children with her at the time. Everyone in the vehicle suffered injuries because of the crash.
The 72-year-old driver of the Silverado was also hurt, as was a 45-year-old passenger.
Emergency responders took all six vehicle occupants to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Police cited the Silverado’s driver for failure to yield.
