WHEATON, IL – A person’s life was claimed in a collision involving a freight train that occurred south of Adams Park on Thursday, WGNTV reports.
A person was struck by a train at the train tracks located at East Front and South Cross Streets and succumbed to their injuries.
Law enforcement responded to the scene before 11 a.m. It’s unclear whether officials issued an intersection closure, but they did say all UPW outbound train services were delayed for nearly an hour as crews worked to investigate the details behind the crash.
